What would need to be changed? I don't actually understand what's wrong. Why would there be a limit on the number of index entries, whatever they are?
I've just tested Kindlegen, and it creates an AZW3/Mobi combination (mobi extension) within about a minute. The big disadvantage is of course that fonts can't be embedded (maybe I can do it beforehand using Tweak Book), and that the file size becomes about twice as big.
Hm. I encountered a python-script called "KindleStrip". Let's see what that does. And jack a bit around with Sigil to test manual font-embedding, so I can transpose it to Tweak Books; opening a 50MB ebook with Sigil is no fun.
