Possible To Delete All Amazon Software From A Kindle 4 NT?

Hello and thank you in advance for any help. I recently received a Kindle 4 NT as a gift. Without it being registered I was able to jailbreak it, add a custom screensaver, and install a working version of Cool Reader 3. Unfortunately, at some point in the last day Amazon took charge and Cool Reader no longer works (selecting it in the menu generates a message stating that it's not a proper application). I find myself quite annoyed that a bought-and-paid-for device has to be registered in order to be used with any reasonable functionality and was wondering if it's possible to completely remove all of the Amazon software and install a reader, be it Cool Reader, FBReader, or another. I'm typing this because a day of Googling only found ways to add an additional reader while keeping all of the Amazon, er, stuff. Thanks again for any help.

EDIT: Apologies for posting in the wrong forum.
