I absolutely find it even more useful than "pages left in book". By the way, "percentage read in book", already available in Marvin, is a much better indicator for manual sync with an e-reader, than "pages left in book". (Font/page sizes between iPad/iPhone/typical 6-inch e-reader are just too different to make "pages left in book" a very reliable indicator.)
