Thanks Giorgio. As far as the margins are concerned, I set them to large (but would prefer to set the larger still if possible, ideally by number of pixels rather than by small, medium, large), but when I exit, then re-enter koreader, the margins have reset to medium, although on the settings dialogue it still says "large".
