Calibre 1.5.0 definitely supports the Aura HD and the released firmware versions.

So, what does calibre do when you plug the Aura HD in? Are there any errors?

The most likely thing I can think of is that the driver has been disabled. Or that it was disable to use the extended driver and you have uninstalled or disabled it. Can you check the plugin list in preferences and make sure that the "KoboTouch" driver is enabled. Or the extended driver if you want to use that.

If the driver is enabled, run the device detection. This is on the miscellaneous page of the preferences. Open the page, connect the device, and press the "Debug device detection" button. Then post the output of that.

Another possibility is that the device is being mounted read only. I have had a few reports of this for Macs. From memory, if this is the case, calibre displays an error when opening the database on the device.
