I'll take your question seriously, since you have no smileys attached.

I enjoy reading Ellison's work, although I often find his fiction less than profound. As a genre writer, he is excellent; but as a literary writer, he only rarely rises above the ghetto of genre fiction, which is probably true of all fiction anyway.

As far as what I know about the man, my knowledge only goes as far as what I hear on the internet, in that he appears to be a real ass and has been dying for the past few years. (Aren't we all.)

Alice Munro is a serious literary writer, and is much admired for her work. I admire her greatly, which is the reason I collect her books.
