I've eaten both many times and have always found that my enjoyment of either is entirely dependent on how they're prepared and with what they're served. Snails in particular have approximately zero taste on their own, so I fail to see what the deal is.
They're not something I find it worth buying or preparing myself, but if you're the one doing the buying and/or cooking then I'll happily eat. If you're a decent cook that is.
