What sort of tight company doesn't include some solder with a new soldering station? Even the cheap soldering irons we used to order for the electronics class used to come with a roll of solder.

N.B. this isn't me, and I don't have sound at work so don't know what/if any noise there is

I'll also take the serial cable down to the local with me tonight along with some masking tape and get the cables labelled with the colours on them
