I read the first one, just got to the end of A Clash of Kings and then was just too bored by the series to keep going. The books were just too long, and there still seems to be no end in sight. I may pick them up again when the series is finished. That said, A Game of Thrones (the first one) is one of the best books I have ever read, and kept me absolutely hooked. I particularly liked Tyrion! It's not that I think these books are bad, it's just that they are too long and drag after book 2. I also tried WOT but got so cross with the first one for being such an obvious copy of LOTR that I gave up.
