In my last divorce, both our lawyers were so aggressively nasty that we actually felt badly for each other and almost got back together again! We both had to really work hard to convince our respective lawyers that we didn't 'hate' each other, didn't want to 'burn and pillage' each other or drag the other over the coals in our desire to dissolve our marriage, and we both had to threaten to replace the lawyers if they didn't back off and just file what we actually wanted done. That was 35 years ago, and she and I are still friends today.
