I guess, both of those are marginally better choice than getting shot ;-)

Seriously. I do not like Kobo and I do not like Kindle. I would choose Kobo. I did have PaperWhite 1 and sold it with a loss to purchase much more expensive PocketBook 623 Touch Lux.

The only reason for my dislike is the software, necessity of registration of the device and limited possibility of configuration.
Regarding configuration, Kobo Aura HD seems to have more possibilities. But ... (I am not helping, am I? ) some people report firmware glitches on their Kobos.

Ufff ... no bullet this time ... I chose Kobo Aura HD
