It's in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Packages\AMZNMob ileLLC.KindleforWindows8_stfe6vwa9jnbp\LocalState\ cache

covers are stored in \LocalState\covers. You might have a different extension after Windows8_, I suspect the stfe6ywa9jnbp is generated at the machine level.

Books aren't stored in .mobi format - they're broken down into fragments
