Hyphenate This!. It works well, at least on the Kindle Paperwhite. I assume it works on the KPW2 too, and as a big part of the KPW1 was backported to the touch, there is a good chance it works there too.
With regard to fonts, my absolute favorite is still my self-created DejaVu Serif Fat. To be honest, while I *can* read with all of the Kindle fonts in all sizes from 1 to 4, except for Futura (*very* bad redability, IMHO), I like none of them. I like Palatino best, but even that one is not perfect. (It should have been 30% fatter.)
