There was definitely an improvement over time, so if you are happy to wait a few months, it might be worthwhile doing so. In saying that, it's a hassle and cost-free process to return one for a refund if you order from Amazon and have any problems with it. So I do think it is worth giving it a try, there are plenty of people who are very happy with their new PW.

As above, you have nothing to lose by getting your PW and seeing what you think of it. Easy to return it and just get your money back if you aren't happy with it, at least you'll have seen one with your own eyes instead of just giving up on it in case you get one that's got a flaw? I haven't pre-ordered, but still plan on ordering one to at least try it.

Do you still have your Kindle Keyboard, and if so, do you think there is much difference between the screens and the text between the two (in daylight with the PW light as low as possible)?
I really like the screen & text on my KK, and won't upgrade if I find the screen & text is not at least comparable in daylight.
