I had the same problem the other day with my Kobo Glo. I sent two books to the Glo and they both caused the Kobo to freeze. One wouldn't load and said Loading page....
I restarted but no luck.
The other let me read the first chapter and then the same thing.
The only solution (by my husband) was to delete the books and reload.
They worked fine after that.
I also have version 8 and the Kobo extended plug-in, but I'm not sure what version that is, although I did update it the other day
