W is still set in the '80s, so yes, they still do. I was a bit surprised when Kinsey started downing glasses of white wine at a bar/club in W is for Wasted - I noted there was no clarification of how she got back to her hotel (where she awoke with a bad hangover), even though she had driven to the bar.
