Very unlikely. More like its a residue off the rubberized backing. This can be caused by some peoples skin that is oily and acidic. I for example cannot wear glasses that have rubberized temples for aesthetics, the acid and oil in my skin can dissolve this rather fast. IT could also be caused because you had a solvent or something similar on your hands from cleaning or working with something prior to the handling of the Aura. There are probably a number of reasons that your device is doing this, how and why is really speculation at this point.
