The background is much whiter on the 2013 compared to the 2012 and the exact same fonts appear much crisper.
I used to have to sync to get eBooks to the latest page. Syncing is now automatic.
All dictionary lookups are stored in a Vocabulary Builder at the Home page.
The unit came fully charged and automatically registered itself at Amazon.
Collections had to be re-entered and did not automatically install.
Firmware comes at version 5.4.0 on the 2013 unit versus 5.3.8 on the 2012 unit.
Otherwise the units appear almost identical.
