Most likely it simply calls/stores webpages as embedded IE objects. That's what OneNote does. It might be the next version of OneNote though I doubt it; OneNote is about capturing and organizing information from multiple sources and this is more about displaying and annotating information from multiple source types without changing it.
Slight distinction but a critical one if they are aiming for the academic textbook market.
