Maybe the following looks a bit pedantic, but I don't mean it like that. Hopefully you don't take it the wrong way.

In my experience with older people, it often is not a success if you change things just because you think it's good to do it, even if the new device is better and your intentions are good. I've noticed it with my father, and several other people. It may be better to wait until your mom hits some sort of snag (reader too small, no front-light), which makes her *want* another reader.
