I remember reading a batch of his Roger Brook novels back in the 60s-70s. The character has a dual life as the Chevalier de Breuc, an aide to Napoleon, and an agent of William Pitt. They were blockbusters in the day (you would see them in every drugstore or airport terminal), and I enjoyed them then - don't know how they would read now.
