If you want the epub version (which is what other devices can use), go to the kobo website, log in and look in your library. Beside each book, it should have a link to download the epub. Download this to your computer. If it is DRM free, you can just add it to your calibre library (using the add books feature). If it is not DRM free, you have 2 options. 1) solely use ADE (Adobe Digital Editions..this is what handles epub DRM on all ereaders) to handle the book and load to devices. 2) Google Apprentice Alf and "free" your books. After that, calibre can handle the book.
