That may be not as pointless and you say. Perhaps the unit could be hooked to a PDA or cellphone with wireless ability for example. In addition there are wireless usb cables coming where a USB connector is on each end and there is a wireless connection for the center part of the "wire". Basically they are totally transparent wireless connections for devices that only support wired USB.
