I wouldn't consider buying anything from Apple. I've never really enjoyed being dominated by pompous nitwits and never felt the need to buy my way into cool.
I'm not a phone person but I do send text messages so I moved into the touch phones with onscreen keyboards. They're fine. My first was a Nokia with Windows 7. I like it but the phone is painfully slow for using Kindle for Windows 7 or calling us The Weather Channel. I got a Samsung Galaxy SIII mini to try out and the Android OS is much less elegant and clumsier to use but then I'm new to it, too. The phone itself is much, much faster than the Nokia. Right now, I suspect when I figure out how to use the Samsung I'll be passing the Nokia on to a nephew.
