Well, thanks very much for help, David, but no difference.
I did a factory result, redownloaded and extracted fresh v7, copied your code, moved # to second "replace_zlib" to turn footer off, sent compiled tgz over... Damn! footer still persists on both an epub and pdf... It seems to have gotten slightly larger as well.
I know the patcher is working however because the light control has increments of 1.
