I'd end up having to switch back and forth, which is both a PITA and tends to get the store software excited. The _primary_ reason I have a Kobo account at all is to have a purely Canadian account, since my Kindle is on a US account. And some things Canadian just don't make it to the US Kindle store. So I keep the Kobo account for buying Canadian-only content. But they still aren't allowing promo codes on the Agency publishers, so I went ahead and created a US Kobo account that runs on one of my virtual machines. (Because of the Adobe Digital Editions tie-in, I need to keep it on a separate machine.)
Once I've bought the book, I strip the DRM, convert to AZW3 and put it on my Kindle.
