To me, it's all the same. If a keyboard (or a program) is different from what I'm used to, I'll figure it out and get used to it quickly enough, assuming that said piece of software doesn't have some sort of quirck that just annoys the hell out of me.
Wanting to hide all interface elements all the time, which seems to be the current rage (see Firefox for Android, for example), is one of those. I DON'T want my programs to start hiding stuff from me whenever they feel like it, especially when I constantly need that stuff. (There is an option to display the address bar continously, but there is no such options for the tabs, which I also want to be open all the time.)
