I would suggest, though (as proposed above), that the iPhone should respect the device's regional settings, too (until Marvin's internal date/time customisability is possible).
I believe you can simply skip the am/pm on the iPhone, because they are not needed in practice. Skipping am/pm seems to me a better solution than enforcing "military time" for everyone, and after all, Marvin's largest proportion of users are from the US, to whom "military time" will seem weird, too loudly pointing to Marvin's European origin.
