Even in the unlikely event this is true:
1. Delete encrypted files.
2. Sanitize the computer.
3. Restore un-encrypted files from recent backup.
4. Figure out who the heck to report this too, which is really the problem. Most police departments aren't equipped to handle computer crimes, the FBI doesn't want to talk to you about such piddling little dollar amounts, and who else is there?
...and, of course, be wary of social engineering tricks to not get infected in the first place.
