Interesting ... I just received ANOTHER email from Kobo!
Quote:
Thank you for contacting Kobo, Tier 2 of Direct Orders.
We apologize for the delay in our response.
According to our system, your device has already been shipped.
Here is the tracking information associated with your order: xxxxxxxxxxx shipped with Fedex.
If no one is available at the shipping address to accept the delivery of the device it will be returned to the sender, in this case, our warehouse.
Once we receive notification that your shipment has arrived at our warehouse, we will provide you with a full refund.
We truly appreciate your ongoing patience in this matter and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
I am marking this ticket as closed if by chance you have any further queries or concerns, please reply back to this email and it will reopen the ticket.

Note the following,
"If no one is available at the shipping address to accept the delivery of the device it will be returned to the sender, in this case, our warehouse."
So, I must assure somebody besides the dog is at home, the entire day. BUT, if there is a problem, perhaps "the warehouse" would accept the return. (They failed to mention in which country "the warehouse" is located.)
Perhaps those who see FedEx as the shipping agency might want to consider the requirement for acceptance of delivery.
http://www.fedex.com/us/delivery/
Offers members the opportunity to sign "in advance" of delivery, so the item would be delivered, even if nobody was home. Other options are also available at that site.
