Apparently, the non-gloss fixture on the new Aura also brings a sort of pattern on the display which makes it difficult to read under sunlight.....

If there is one thing that the Kindle always delivered, that was very good reading conditions for reading outside, at the beach, in the sunlight and so on.

I am using my readers A LOT outside. We have beach weather here 9 months in the year, so it would be catastrophic for me not to be able to read in the sun (which is the reason why as much as I love my phone and tablet, I still need - and use - an e-reader).

Re the Aura, I have the Aura HD version and although the design of the back is not my cup of tea, the hardware is pretty much faultless (the software is far, far, far from faultless). It's really a pity if Kobo does not manage to do as well on the new Aura, as they obviously know how to produce good hardware.
