You have given only unconvincing reasons why you think the fingerprint scanner will be unattractive. It's not worth pursuing the matter further if you can't justify your irrational pessimism any better than that. We can revisit once the technology is out in the wild.

But we are not talking about the scanner not working because of a malfunction. We're talking about a fully functional scanner that will not unlock your phone under some circumstances because
it is designed that way.
