It definitely has potential
but I think for me it's going to be fairly limited on a day-to-day basis - I'm French, my English is ok, my Spanish although very rusty can still get me by and my Italian is not too bad. One of the great tips I got from an English teacher at school, who is the one who was lending me books in English so that I wouldn't get bored in class (!), was to avoid reaching for the dictionary and try as much as possible to work out the general meaning rather than get too hung up on individual words.
