Tell him to set a dog ear on the page or to touch the top margin and open that menu, then touch within the page. If it is what I think it is, the next FW edition takes care of this. I only saw it on sideloaded books and some people never see it at all. Other folks have told me that if you choose a Kobo font rather than use the fonts specified in the books, this is not an issue.
