Definitely a canned reply. It definitely seems they missed the point and paid more attention to what was checked than what was said. Other here on MR have stated they've had better luck calling than emailing. I've had three email chains with them...
- One shortly after purchasing a kepub only book on the old site (my fault for not noticing it wasn't available as an Adobe DRM EPUB and that there was another version that was) - "resolution" was to read it on Android... I didn't pursue it since it was my mistake
- One several months later about the same issue as before... By this time, the kepub only version was no longer for sale... I didn't mention the previous contact and told them I went to download it and discovered it didn't have a download button. They instructed me to delete and readd it. I deleted it, but was unable to readd since it no longer existed. They had to add the correct one for me... Issue resolved.
- One about some pirated books that were obviously converted with Calibre from bad PDF scans. They refunded my money and removed the books after investigating.
The first two issues, really the same issue, took several back and forth emails to eventually reach resolution. The last one was fairly straightforward. Persistence is definitely key...
