With Calibre Companion you already use the easiest way to mirror calibre on your Nexus 7.

Using Calibre Companion (CC) every time you connect your device the calibre library metadata should sync (Calibre 1.3 required for some items) with CC. I have my whole library on my Nexus 7 and use the Reading List plugin to keep track of newly added books to my library and each time I connect to calibre if there are new books in the reading list they are sent to my Nexus 7 automatically.
