I went for "Other", because I'm waiting to see what Barnes & Noble do with the Nook. Supposedly they're going to announce a new e-ink reader this year, but it probably won't be until October or November.
As for the others:
- Kindle - I don't like Amazon's continuing insistence on not using the de facto industry standard EPUB. I don't want to have to deal with converting my existing library to mobi/kf8 and all of the reformatting that will have to go along with that.
- Kobo Aura - This one is very, very tempting, but then I go over to the Kobo forum here and read about all of the bugs that Kobo has in their firmware for their current devices and get scared.
- Sony - Last year's hardware at next year's price. Seriously, WTF? It's a Pearl screen rather than the new Carta (that's definitely in the Kindle PW2, and I assume/hope is in the Aura) and there's not even a proper front light. It's as if they took the old Kindle3 lighted cover and built it into the reader. I've seen rumored prices as high as $180. This thing is worth maybe half that in a front-lit ereader world.
