This is pretty much my only gripe with the iPhone 5C, too. I wish Apple had just kept the iPhone 5 similar to what they've done in previous years but I can see why they would want to make a more apparent distinction between their "mid-range" and high end models, not to mention increase profit margins by lowering manufacturing costs.
