I explained it before; there's a difference between knowing that the Internet is full of minor copyright violations, and being notified of a particular instance. Once we were notified here, we could no longer ignore it.

In the case of GPL, it does not really matter whether the programmer is profiting or not. It's a matter of honoring the copyright to those people who were involved in programming the underlying code and libraries. Some people hate GPL for it, saying its viral character has a damaging effect on the industry. Be that as it may, this problem could quickly be solved with the release of the pdflrfwin source code.
