Make sure whoever picks you up and drives you home is willing to fill your prescriptions and wait on you hand and foot for at leats a couple of days after the surgery. I've had a very similar procedure, and the ability to relax and not have to worry about anything, because someone was taking care of me, drastically shortened my recovery period.
