I'm reading enjoyable trash right now: Black World, by Raymond A. Palmer, a short novel published in the 1940s.
I'm one-half through the book. Thoroughly enjoyable, improbable nonsense.
I'm getting ready to buy about 10-15 Shell Scott Private Eye novels, by Richard S. Prather. As noted elsewhere, there's a huge 25% off sale, from Independenat Publishers.
I just finished one Shell Scott mystery, and it was a hoot. Here's one crazy line:
"There was a lot of her already in the room before the rest of her got in."
Absolute, crazy nonsense -- written in a different time.
