I finished Elizabeth Kostova's "The Historian," a novel involving Dracula, but really a novel that searches for those secret identities that most of us keep hidden.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I can see where restless and impatient readers who like quick action 'shoot-em-ups, kill-em-dead, drink-the blood' types of readers would shun this as too learned, too esoteric, too mucho in the historia, if you know what I mean.

Well, that's why we have blood-soaked zombies and literature, and rarely the twain shall meet - if ever.

I happen to like both, by the way.

If you enjoy reading literature, then I can heartily recommend this exquisite and beautiful novel that touches upon the realms of horror. This is a slow read, but a rewarding one.
