Of course it turned out to be a bit more complicated. I received this letter:

".. As you are paying with a credit card that was issued by a bank outside of Canada, we require additional information, since many foreign financial institutions do not support verbal verification practices. We are a Canadian company, and, as part of our credit card fraud prevention process for international customers, we need to verify the credit card number and billing address provided.

These steps are necessary to help protect you against credit card abuse. Please find a link to our online help article regarding the verification of international credit cards below:

To proceed with this verification, we ask that you send our Online Billing & Support Team (by replying to this email) a copy of the front of your credit card with the first 4 and last 4 digits of your account number visible (please block the middle 8 digits) and one of the following:

· A scanned portion of your latest credit card statement (see below for details)
OR
· A recent utility bill
OR
· A scan of your Driver’s Licence.

The information you send us should show your name and the billing address you provided on your order. Please block the middle 8 digits of your credit card number if you choose the first option. All other personal details such as your transactions, credit limit and/or available balance are not required. Please block this information as we do not require it.

If you are unable to email the requested documents, you can fax the requested information to 001-905-789-2626.

PLEASE NOTE: We only require this verification ONCE and all subsequent orders placed with this credit card will be processed without further verification. Unless you are issued a new credit card number, you will never need to resend us this information.

We ask that you reply within the next 4 business days. If we do not hear from you, your order will be cancelled and your credit card will not be charged. I sent a picture of my Drivers licence.
