I think I am listening to too many long books  and I can't seem to catch up to my credits. I think if I could have the option 1-2 times per year to buy some credits that would be all I need.

The only way to get on the $10/yr plan is to cancel one of the normal plans. You can do it online. When you cancel they will offer to put your account on hold for 3 months or give you 3 months at $7.50/mo, if you decline both those offers they will offer you the $10/yr Listener Light plan. This plan lets you keep any credits you have already, and gives you access to most sales (if you have no credits you won't get the 3 for 2 sales). I have never had the opportunity to purchase credits in the 10 months I have been on the plan. I subsist on sales and kindle/whispersync deals .
