Here are my thoughts on the PW1 and the Kobo

Comparison: Kindle Paperwhite vs Kobo Glo

Kobo - faster processor 1000mz (Paperwhite 800mz)

Kobo - takes micro SD card - so holds more books

Kobo - lighter weight 185g (Paperwhite 221g)

Kobo - longer battery life (so they say) 55 hours vs 28 hours (according to http://readerrocket.com/)

Kobo - light is more uniform (at least on mine) (Paperwhite light is a bit blotchy)

Kobo - text display MUCH more customizable (margins, line spacing, fonts, font size, adding custom fonts)

Using Calibre to manage collections, easy to do with Kobo without rooting, can’t be done on Paperwhite without rooting.

Text color is darker and a little sharper on the paperwhite (but I am using a custom font on both).

Screen saver - Paperwhite must be jailbreaked and ad free, Kobo can use generic or last opened book cover, no rooting necessary.

Winner - Kobo
