I would at least wait until they are released in the US and Europe early next month and see if there is any further information then. The new Paperwhite might not be much of an upgrade over the original (and yes some of the improvements will probably be available in updated firmware), but if it's your first Paperwhite, the improved lighting, contrast, screen, touch control & processor speed will only be in the newer model and must all be worth waiting a month or two for (well as long as it's released before Christmas internationally)?
