What is strange at that I was still able to access a number of books, some of which had DRM. There was no rhyme or reason to it. But apparently Amazon does add DRM to some Carina and Samhain titles, so I did learn something.
I don't think I've ever actually read a book in the kindle4PC app. But I have to have it since I do not have an actual Kindle.

I've never heard of being able to read them after deregistered them. It's not possible because each time you register the site sees it as a different device. If you go to your MYK page then devices you will see all the K4PCs listed each time you registered it. They must have been DRM free ones you could open or you redownloaded the book with the new DRM code. Yes Amazon adds DRM to all non KDP books including Carina and Samhain.
