Yes, that stuff is annoying. I had the same issue when I wanted to bulk delete articles from Readability, which were sent to my Kindle daily in one consolidated email.
This is the best alternative I've found, an add on which lets you bulk delete everything that's visible on a page

It can't bulk search your entire library, but it still helps.
