Hah, that's cool. I must try.

I would still want Amazon to say 'go ahead and use soft hyphens, we are not going to break that if we add auto hyphenation' but nice to know of this option. Does it work with all of the reading apps that support KF8? Does text search ignore the soft hyphens and find the text?

As for epub reading systems, I believe things are still sort of hit and miss. At least older ADE and RMSDK would break words but not add hyphen glyph. So I doubt too many publishers are submitting files with soft hyphens in them.
