DRM is an attempt to prevent you to use the content you have purchased beyond the device you have purchased to use it on. It's an attempt to hinder your control such that f you by in say eReader and move to a Sony Reader, you'd have to purchase the content again if you wanted to reread it. This is highly restrictive and no nice.
